So a great way to get the word spread about our group and our site is to get involved in the community. I was looking at a site called treadlightly.org who is a group founded by the US Forestry service that is trying to protect our land use rights through education and stewardship.

Of course that is just an idea, what do you guys feel would be a good way to get involved? should we partner with the Jeep & 4x4 Association? Ideas are encouraged, as I don't live down there anymore it would be everyone else actually doing stuff... I'm just... well not much.... I don't even have a Jeep

I don't think we should associate with the jeep and 4x4 association, if there even is still such a thing, haven't seen a person at that place for 6 months now. Like if there are beach cleanups or anything like that we should try to be involved in them. I will have to check out that website, i've heard of it i think.

Hahaha yeah im pretty sure that place is a thing of the past. I paid the 50 bucks and never heard a word from that guy, got two stickers woohoo! lol He had a good idea but didn't want to put in any effort.

We agree about getting out there in the community, Chris and I watch a show on Mondays called Off Road Adventure, they have mentioned tread lightly and we have seen them receive several awards, I will be more then happy to see what I can find out about this and how we can become a part of the community here, if you all want me too? Please let me know and I can check several avenues!

I think if we get involved it just makes us look better. When you see what is left behind by some that use the beach, dunes or the area in Elliot that we went into last weekend its bad. Someone needs to do it why not us.

I agree, you don't notice how bad all those places are untill you stop and look. It may not be our mess but someone needs to set an example.

Good idea! I was actually thinking about this last weekend, went up to Blue Ridge and drove my Bronco around on the trails, stumbled on a little trash dump people had decided to make on the mountain. I understand some people are dirt poor, myself included, but that's no excuse to be irresponsible and dump your trash in the middle of a forest. Wish I would have caught the guy in the act, you know there's no vehicular manslaughter law in Oregon...

While watching some of the video from the other weekend we need to watch out for new trees, we ran over quite a few of them..hahaha

saplings are pretty resilient lol, but yeah definitely cant go purposefully trampling them.

Getting caught driving over them is a nice fine as well.
